After the Tulsa State Fair, Spoiled Pet Cafe headed to Little Rock, Arkansas for the Arkansas State Fair. We didn’t know what to expect of this fair because none of our friends had done it but it was on our way back to Knoxville and it was ranked within the top 50 fairs in the United States for 2010. We were very warmly greeted by the organizer of the fair and she made numerous visits to our booth during the course of the event. There was a good variety of food but there was not a lot of space for commercial and non-profit vendors. Additionally the Hall of Industry where the vendors were located was quite old which meant the lighting was poor and the restroom facilities were very poor. The rides were mostly confined to the mundane carnival type rides one would expect to find at larger county fairs. The livestock exhibits were excellent. The crowds were large and the bands were top notch (and FREE with fair admission). There was an incident on the final Saturday night just across the street from the secured parking area of the fairgrounds which necessitated numerous police officers and a police helicopter. I do not know the details of this incident though it did put a damper on the overall experience. Unfortunately this will probably not be a fair that Spoiled Pet Cafe will return to again.

Spoiled Pet Cafe ventured west to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Tulsa State Fair. We had very high expectations of this fair because of its high ranking among fairs in the United States and from personal references from firends we trust who had done, and continue to do the fair. We were not disappointed. There was a tremendous variety of food, commercial, and non-profit vendors. There was a good selection of rides that were not merely confined to the most mundane of carnival rides. The crowds were large and seemed quite responsive to the vendors. This definitely looks like a show we will return to!

Over this past Labor Day weekend, Spoiled Pet Cafe participated in both the Labor Day Spectacular hosted by Stewart Promotions and the Kentuckiana Cat Club Championship. Both of these events were held at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds. This was the first cat show for Spoiled Pet Cafe so we really didn’t know what to expect. We were happy to see quite a variety of cats and a small but dedicated group of cat enthusiasts. In addition to the warm reception we were given by the cat club, spectators, and exhibitors we were happy to be a part of the 50th Anniversary celebration for the Kentuckiana Cat Club.

Spoiled Pet Cafe had an excellent experience in Louisville, Kentucky at the Kentucky State Fair. There was a tremendous variety of everything from vendors to exhibitors to entertainment. This variety carried through to the food vendors as well; can you say fried kool-aid? fried derby pie? fried…okay so all this fried yumminess may not be the healthiest but the fair is only once a year I hope you enjoy the slideshow of images below of the 2011 Kentucky State Fair!

Spoiled Pet Cafe was happy to participate in the 42nd Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. It was great to see returning customers and have the opportunity to meet lots of new folks. In addition to all the wonderful car owners and spectators were lots of those furry, four-legged family members that always hold special places in our heart. Though there were nearly 400 fewer cars at this year’s event there were still just over 10,000 cars entered! The reduced number of cars did not diminish the excitement of the car enthusiasts who turned out in droves. This remains one of the shows that we recommend enthusiastically to other vendors and of course to automobile aficionados.

Spoiled Pet Cafe is back from two very successful shows in Louisville, KY; the Stewart Promotions Flea Market and the 2011 Street Rod Nationals Plus (NSRA) . But just because we are back at home in Knoxville, TN this doesn’t mean we will be resting on our laurels. In fact this Friday kicks off the annual Knoxville Expo Center‘s 2011 Craft Fair. You may be wondering how a commercial vendor such as ourselves is able to participate in a craft fair? Easy, this craft fair actually has an aisle for commercial vendors. Though we commercial vendors do generally occupy more space (and thus pay for a large portion of the event’s expenses making it more accessible for craft vendors) we will not be overwhelming the show and its raison d’étre. If you are in Knoxville this weekend and are looking for a flea market alternative check out this craft fair!

Though it may be difficult to imagine anyone who likes to ride in cars more than the people who take pride in restoring and caring for them, you can’t forget those furry, four-legged family members who may literally do backflips at the mere suggestion of a ride in the car. Where there are car people, there are dogs who love to ride! Spoiled Pet Cafe is excited to return to Louisville, Kentucky for this premier event. We will of course have all of our high quality pet products and some that can help make travelling in those fantastic cars more pleasant for everyone. This weekend Spoiled Pet Cafe hits the road once again as we journey north to Louisville, Kentucky. This trip will see us doing to consecutive shows, the first of which is the Stewart Flea Market at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds and the second is the 42nd Annual Street Rod Nationals (NSRA) enormous national event also at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds. At the flea market we will have our enourmous offering of pet supplies. From our always popular three wheel pet strollers to our super posh bicycle strollers that have a 100 lb. capacity! Generally our bicycle strollers are by special pre-order only but because of the NSRA show the following week we will be bringing a limited number with us to both shows; provided of course they don’t sell out at the flea market! We look forward to seeing you and your four-legged family member this weekend.

Though it was great for Spoiled Pet Cafe to have been home this past weekend, it is time once again for us to hit the road with our high quality pet products. This upcoming weekend we roll into Music City, a.k.a. Nashville, Tennessee. We are very excited about the addition of a vast array of pet healthcare products to our usual offerings. We now carry styptic pads, gel, and powder for those times when we accidentally clip our dog, cat, or bird’s nail too short (ouch). We also have numerous products aimed at good oral hygiene, vitamin supplements, pill pockets from Greenies, and all natural flea, tick, and mosquito preventative from Sentry called Natural Defense. This is only a small sampling of pet healthcare products aimed at creating a more well rounded pet booth.

Fresh off the Stewart Promotions 4th of July Extravaganza in Louisville, Kentucky, Spoiled Pet Cafe is once again at home in Knoxville, Tennessee. In addition to our very unique lines of pet supplies, we will be featuring a few new dog breeds on our ‘Pet Taxi’ line of license plates. If you have not seen these cool tags be sure to look for them hanging on the front perimeter of our booth. While we can’t possibly carry all the breeds, we are constantly expanding our selection. And for a little more money, you can always order a custom plate with your dog’s picture and your slogan. We can’t wait to see you and your furry, four-legged family member this weekend!
