This past Saturday, May 1st 2010,  was a beautiful day in Knoxville. The weather got into the low 80′s but the cool breezes made it feel quite nice. As usual, Danny Thornton of Spoiled Pet Cafe ventured out to photograph some of the colorful sights from the Market Square Farmers’ Market. Though the weather reports were grim and threatened to make the opening day of Knoxville’s Market Square Farmers’ Market a dud, this simply was not what happened. Yes storm and severe weather were reportedly happening in the area and adjacent counties, the Market Square Farmers’ Market was blissfully spared. With temps in the mid 70s and cool breezes right up until the first raindrops began to fall just before the closing (cow)bell, the day could not have been more ideal. And with this type of beautiful weather, the crowds were large and diverse. Though I appreciate the best efforts of the weather people, I am happy that their predictions were incorrect. I want to thank all of the beautiful, happy, and well behaved canines who brought their humans to visit us. From morning’s gorgeous sunrise until the raindrops began to fall, below are some of the images from the opening day festivities, look closely you (and maybe your human) could be there!
